Tim O'Connor (born 1968) is a New Zealand Educator, In 2002, O'Connor was appointed Rector of Palmerston North Boys' High School and was active in many areas related to boys' education, including the Association of Boys' Schools New Zealand, the Secondary Schools Principals' Association and the International Boys' Schools Coalition.

Academic career[edit]

Educated at Palmerston North Boys' High School, Mr O'Connor went on to obtain a Diploma of Teaching at Palmerston North Teachers' College and graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor of Education.

He later undertook post-graduate studies in Improving Schools and the Art of Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. After commencing secondary teaching in 1990, Mr O'Connor was appointed Deputy Principal of Nelson College in 2000.

In 2002, Mr O'Connor was appointed Rector of Palmerston North Boys' High School and was active in many areas related to boys' education, including the Association of Boys' Schools New Zealand, the Secondary Schools Principals' Association and the International Boys' Schools Coalition.

Awards[edit]

In 2007, he was awarded both a Woolf Fisher Fellowship and was also made a Sir Peter Blake Trust Emerging Leader.
