Pandiyan kingdom[edit]

The ancient Pandiyan Kingdom of Mara Nadar dynasty before the foundation of Chera Kingdom.The Chera kingdom founded by the Mahodaya cheras of Karuvur who migrated to Kodungalloor when they assimilated the Vellian,Puraiyan Cheras, in 300 BC. Sinhala The arrival of Kalingan Vijaya in 543BC lead to the foundation of Thambapanni Kingdom (Thamraparni)in the north western puthalam area.
