Absolute Automation Inc. is a consumer electronics company specializing in home security and home automation products. Founded in 1995, it is based in Thamesville, Ontario and Casco, Michigan. All of the company's products can be installed and operated by consumers and are geared for DIY applications.

History

Absolute Automation was founded as a small home business in Ontario in 1995.^[1] Originally the company was operated from a garage and basement, eventually moving to warehousing in both Michigan and a secondary remote office in Ontario, Canada. The company was founded by Garnet McBride, who comes from a lengthy electronics and telecommunications background.

Overview

Absolute Automation currently has an annual revenue of over 1 - 5 million dollars annually and several full time employees.^[2].

Products

The company carries products for end users. All products can be installed and operated by their users and do not require monitoring companies or professional installers. Absolute Automation is a distributor of Dakota Alert, Optex, Sensaphone, SVAT, USP, ELK, Chamberlain, Winland Electronics as well as others.

Garnet McBride developed the "Auto Alert" driveway alarm which was the first product for Absolute Automation to carry.

Events

In early 2011 the company successfully defended their website from a DDoS attack of unknown origin.

In 2010 a second office in Bayfield, Ontario was opened and then expanded in 2012.
