Thomas Lemmer (* 15 April 1977 in Marburg/Lahn, Germany) is [[musician] (keyboarder/pianist), music producer and composer. His music is mainly of the genres electronic music, downtempo, ambient, trip-hop, Ibiza sounds, lounge and chillout.

Life and works[edit]

Thomas Lemmer, born in Marburg in 1977, grew up in a musical family and received piano lessons at an early age. As a teenager, he developed an interest in music production, which was encouraged by his then piano teacher and producer. Parallel to his piano lessons, he also received training as a church organist.

In 1995 he met the singer Elke Ludwig and started a German pop project called diPOLAR with her. The song Rette mich from her debut album diPOLAR was performed in 2005 with the a cappella formation Harmony Central at the Deutscher Rock & Pop Preis in Hamburg in the Neue Flora. They took third place in the Pop category.

In 2009 he released his first solo album Chillout Lounge. The titles of this album are now featured on international compilations. The title Fatigué, which was also released as a single release from Chillout Lounge, was released on the Café del Mar - Volume 16.

In 2010 Thomas met the songwriter and producer Aaron Taylor (UK). Together they started the music project Motif; Lemmer takes the role of the producer, while Taylor is mainly dedicated to songwriting. Their songs are interpreted by different female singers. Recordings are made in England and Germany, depending on the origin of the singers. Their musical style moves between downtempo, electronic and trip-hop. Their first production and release was Give it away, sung by Hannah Magenta, which was released on the 30 Years of Music compilation of "Café del Mar". Further single releases followed on various labels, especially the dance and electronica scene Electronic Dance Music (EDM).

In 2011 Lemmer released his second studio album Relieve. The single releases from this album are I like it, One and the title Is it too late, sung by Lena Belgart. For the first time, Lemmer worked together with remixers. So in 2012, a remix edition of the album Relieve followed, which contains the remixes of the single releases and other previously unreleased remixes.

In 2013 the label Sine Music took over his entire music catalog and has been releasing his music since then.
