About Me[edit]

I'm a 24-year-old college graduate and IT guy. Gamer. Star Trek fan. Star Wars fan. Interested in biology, logic, computer science, philosophy, and religion/irreligion. Communal knowledge contributor.

What Am I Even Doing Here?[edit]

I patrol new pages and recent edits looking for self-promoters, spammers, vandals and the like. I contribute to talk pages. I make minor edits to articles. I wander about the webspaces.

Consensus[edit]

Why is change being so fiercely resisted? It seems to me as though any proposed correction of, say, the hotly disputed lead to Atheism is dismissed immediately with a "Hello and welcome! Please review the archives and notice that this issue has been casually dismissed many times before. Lurkmoar." Even simple reordering of the oddly ordered definitions is resisted and dismissed. I've given up discussing that article, as any mention of the widely hated and arguably biased lead is met with sanctimony and talk about consensus. Any attempt at cooling the hot heads of those watching their pet articles will be met with dismissive sanctimony. I understand that there are repeats of the same discussions, but it doesn't look like anyone is even trying at all to improve articles; just preserve the status quo and prevent any changes. It truly makes me doubt the reliability of certain articles and of WP in general.
