Waitlist Zero is a US-based organization that works to promote living kidney donation through a mixture of political advocacy, education, and raising awareness.

Waitlist Zero is a member of the Coalition to Promote Living Kidney Donations, a group of 15 organizations which advocate for policy changes that support living kidney donations.[1]

Political Advocacy[edit]

Waitlist Zero works with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the government body which oversees organ donation.

Finances[edit]

Waitlist Zero has an operating budget of about $120,000 a year.

The organization has received two grants from Good Ventures. The first was $50,000, given in September 2014 in order to fund the organizers while they made a plan for the organization.[2] The other, given in August 2015, was $200,000 over two years in order for the organization to continue work.[3] In addition, Waitlist Zero has also raised $35,000 from Novartis and various other individual funders.[4]
