MC Catalyst (born Mathew Joseph Jarman on December 27, 1996, San Mateo, California) is an American rapper, producer,[1] writer, musician, and director. He is one of three members in the hip-hop trio, Jarman's House. Jarman has directed a small variety of films all of which he has also written the screenplay for. Jarman also self-released a few books independently.

Early Career[edit]

He began playing rock music for a small unorganized church band[2] as the drummer. After the church was closed due to terrorism the remaining members began organizing rehearsals themselves without instruction from the Lutheran church. The band kicked Jarman out of the group and replaced him by another drummer. A month after his leave, Jarman[3] began supplying the unnamed group with vocals and audio production in his studio set up in his room. After the guitarist left the group, the main rock element left the group as well. Jarman took the group to his demand and started producing an R&B album with the band. He also titled the band WE Are Untitled, and then brought in the vocal talent of Kyle Richard Graham. Jarman and Graham rapped over the produced beats and recorded the groups first vocal album The Nudist Named Kyle.[4][5] Mathew Jarman himself described the album on his blog as "Disgusting, I don't know why we ever released it." The group was dismissed right after the album so Jarman could pursue a career in production and hip-hop rapping.
