Olivia Marks-Woldman OBE[edit]
Olivia Marks-Woldman OBE is the Chief Executive of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust and oversees the national day of Holocaust and genocide commemoration in the UK.[1]
Early Life[edit]
Olivia grew up in Ealing, London, in a family that was active in the Jewish and wider community and in the voluntary sector. She completed an MSc in Equal Opportunities, specialising in Disability (Bristol University), followed by an MPhil in Social Science (Glasgow University).[2]
Career[edit]
Olivia joined Holocaust Memorial Day Trust as the Chief Executive in February 2012. She has overseen the growth of Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) around the country from approximately 1,200 local activities to more than 17,000, and a hugely increased political, media, and social profile, establishing HMD as the day of national significance in the UK.
Before joining the Trust, Olivia worked at Breast Cancer Care, where she was Head of Policy and Campaigns, and several other UK national charities.
Personal Life[edit]
Olivia lives in Pinner with her husband Simon Woldman and their three children. One of their children has moderate learning difficulties, and Marks-Woldman often speaks about the experience of parenting a child with SEN.[3]
