Beacon Cottage is a Georgian House, thought to be built in 1795 by Nathaniel Ryder, the first Baron of Harrowby. It was possibly built as a cottage orne.

1920: Sold by Percy Chandos Farquhar de Paravicini to Winifred Eliza Hunsworth

1922: Purchased by Anne Elizabeth Moore

1923: Anne Elizabeth Moore died

1924: Purchased by Ellen Emma Burrows and Charlotte Burrows

1951: Purchased by John Brushwood (a highway surveyor) and Edith Daisy Brushwood

1954: Purchased by Mr Robert Cowe, a painter and decorator.

1956: Purchased by Ronald Wallace Holloway and Dennis Wallace Holloway. Mr Cowe was now living in Southern Rhodesia.

1963: Purchase by Mrs Lizzie Walters

1970: Inherited by Mrs Jean Yeomans from Lizzie Walters (Jean's mother)

1982: Jean Yeomans dies, the property is inherited by Jack Yeomans and Jacqueline Elsie Hardisty

1984: Purchased by Richard Pickard
