Vlad Petre Glǎveanu is Associate Professor and Head of the Psychology and Professional Counseling Department at Webster University in Geneva, Switzerland. He is noted for his sociocultural research into creativity, culture and diversity, social change and political imagination, in particular for his theory of distributed creativity. He is the founder of the Possibility Studies Network. In 2018, he received the Berlyne Award from the American Psychological Association for outstanding early career contributions to the field of aesthetics, creativity, and the arts.

Early Life and Education[edit]

Glǎveanu completed his PhD on the study of egg-painting in Romania.

Career[edit]

Glǎveanu takes a sociocultural approach to creativity. Based on his PhD work, he proposed an alternative to the longstanding "Four Ps" framework first put forward by Mel Rhodes in 1961.[1] Glǎveanu argues that this model is too highly focused on the individual, thus ignores the wider social context in which creativity takes place.[2]
