Construction is a political, cultural, and literary online magazine. It was founded in Brooklyn, NY, by four City College MFA graduates and debuted on June 20, 2011. Construction has published fiction, poetry, and non-fiction, in addition to political columns, interviews, and book reviews.

The magazine has included the work of such authors as Mary Morris (writer), Uche Nduka, and Karl Alexander, in addition to interviews with Lyndon Johnson biographer Robert Caro, The New Yorker staff writer and dance critic Joan Acocella, and Brooklyn Brewery co-founder Steve Hindy. Though based in Brooklyn, the magazine is "particularly interested in international writers and international themes."[1] To that end, it has published a number of translations, including the work of Anton Chekhov, Leo Tolstoy, Ivan Bunin, Marina Tsvetaeva, and the French Symbolist poet Stéphane Mallarmé.
Origin of Name[edit]
David Plick, one of Construction's founding members, claimed in an interview that the magazine's name came about in part as "a response to deconstruction, and the fact that there are real things and problems that exist that we cope with...I felt it would be an opposite movement...I wanted it to be grounded in reality."[2]
