Sisyphus had other sons besides Glaucus, the father of Bellerophontes a second was Ornytion, and besides him there were Thersander and Almus. Ornytion had a son Phocus, reputed to have been begotten by Poseidon. He migrated to Tithorea in what is now called Phocis, but Thoas, the younger son of Ornytion, remained behind at Corinth. Thoas begat Damophon, Damophon begat Propodas, and Propodas begat Doridas and Hyanthidas. While these were kings the Dorians took the field against Corinth, their leader being Aletes, the son of Hippotas, the son of Phylas, the son of Antiochus, the son of Heracles. So Doridas and Hyanthidas gave up the kingship to Aletes and remained at Corinth, but the Corinthian people were conquered in battle and expelled by the Dorians.

The grandson of Sisyphus, through his father Ornytion (Table 35). He was the brother of Phocus, eponymous hero of Phocis. Whereas his brother emigrated to Phocis, he remained in Corinth, where he succeeded his father as ruler. He was in turn succeeded by his own son Damophon, who maintained his kingship until the coming of the Heraclids. This, at least, was the Corinthian tradition.

Since Bellerphon was never able to return to Corinth, the throne passed out of Glaukos' line to a certain Thoas, who is said to have been the grandson of Sisyphos, through a son of his called Ornytion or Orytios; and the city was then ruled by Thoas and his descendants for three generations until one of the Heraklids, Aletes conquered it with a Dorian army (see p. 290).²¹⁵ Ornytion had a further son, Phokos, who settled at Phocis in Central Greece (see p. 565).
