Misalignment (teeth)

Positioning of teeth within supporting structures of the same arch resulting in transversal (predominantly crowding ,spacing, rotations) saggital ( predominantly proclamation retroclination) and vertical (predominantly intrusion/impaction, extrusion ) derangement. Misalignment generally falls into 12 typical patterns (Dr.M.Dekanoidze ©). Not to be mixed with Angels classification of malocclusion. Misalignment is a descriptive term of a specific teeth derangement and can compliment diagnostic statements in orthodontics. Recognizing those patterns may assist in a more predictable treatment outcome. Additionally it can be utilized in the field of forensic medicine.
