From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

CAPA - Centre for Aviation, known colloquially as CAPA, is a Sydney, Australia-based online news, information, business analysis and data supply company for the commercial aviation and associated industries.

Established as Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (acronym CAPA) in 1990 by Peter Harbison, a former executive with the International Air Transport Association, the company was renamed in 2011 to reflect a growing presence in the Middle East, Europe, Africa and the Americas.

CAPA pioneered electronic dissemination of news and analysis in the aviation industry and it is regarded as being the most prolific publisher in its field with typically 300-400 news items published online daily in addition to eight email format reports. It also publishes Airline Leader[1], a monthly hard copy analytical magazine.

In addition to news and analysis services CAPA also compiles online-accessible and interrogable databases on airlines, aircraft fleets and valuations, airports, industry investors, country/regional activities and industry suppliers in association with collaborators such as OAG, ACI, Oriel and Sauber Business School, and is an organiser of C-level air transport conferences worldwide.
