Elaine Power is the winner of Cabin Fever (TV series)[1]. She was one of eleven contestants in the show. She won €100,000.

Early Life[edit]

Elaine Power is from Dunmore East, County Waterford. Power worked in as a Supermarket Manager in Waterford[1].

Winning Cabin Fever[edit]

Elaine Power recieved highest number of votes in the series final.[1] More than 200,000 people voted in the final episode.[2] Other contestants in the final episode included Cat Sheridan from Midleton in County Cork and Fiona McGonnell from Cavan[1].

After her victory, Elaine was greeted by fans from around the country at Sir John Rogerson's Quay when the ship in which the series was shot, Johanna Lucretia, reached Dublin. This was the second ship used in the series after the first ship sank on 13 June, 2003.[3] The show was relaunched on 30 June, 2003.[4]

When asked about her plans with the winning money, Elaine Power said[1]:

"Gucci, Gucci and Gucci - and a large donation to the ISPCA. I'd also give a few quid to the Christina Noble Foundation".

She used the money to buy her home in Dunmore East.[2]

Life after Cabin Fever[edit]

Elaine established Waterford and Dunmore East Sea Safari with her sister Olivia, brother-in-law Ruairi Gibbons and local skipper Noel Power.[2]
