Influx: Art at LAX was the first public arts festival ever held in the history of LAX Airport. The exhibitions included art works from 44 artists, and 11 installations throughout the airport. The art works were on view in their entirety during the event, from June 20, 2013 to December 31, 2013.[1] It was presented by the Los Angeles World Airports Art Program, to celebrate the doubling of its exhibition space, and re-opening of the expanded Tom Bradley International Terminal. The exhibition was viewed by millions of air travelers coming to and leaving from Los Angeles through the LAX Airport, which was noted as "the busiest origin and destination airport in the world" in 2011.[2] The festival was a survey of Los Angeles’ diverse art practices.[3]

A variety of art works were on display in Terminals 1,2,3, the remodeled Tom Bradley International Terminal, and Terminals 6,7 and 8.[4][5]

Live Performances[edit]
"Everywhere Nowhere"[edit]
On Saturday, September 28, 2013 and Sunday, September 29, 2013, a dance performance entitled "Everywhere Nowhere" was held in Terminal 2. It was the work of choreographer/director Sarah Elgart, accompanied by composer Yuval Ron, production designer Stephen Glassman, costumes by Swinda Reichert and the projections and lighting work of Kevin Kerslake. The performance featured the movements of 10 male and female dancers.[7]
