SUBJECT: The topic of my Wikipedia article

After doing some research, I decided to choose Audio Equipment as the article of my choice. Audio equipment is categorized as a device that is used to record, produce, or reproduce sound. They include anything from loudspeakers, amplifiers, microphones, iPods, radios, etc.

I was very surprised that there was no actual Wikipedia page for this topic. The only articles that have been published are Audio, Professional Audio, and Digital Audio. However, none of them discuss in-depth about different types of equipment used in production.

Since I have a good amount of knowledge in audio and music, and because it is such a broad topic, I decided to choose to write about audio equipment. I could discuss the history, evolution, variety, and function of common sound equipment, as well as explain how each of them work. There are also a huge amount of valid sources that can help me with my research. These three things make this topic perfect for me to write about.

There are already articles on specific audio equipment, so I think this article would be good to tie them all together. This way, the audience would not have to go to specific sources to learn about general information. Sometimes people do not want to read in-depth explanations on a piece of equipment. My article would simplify these articles in a way that is understandable and direct.
