Since 2003, Guzman has covered a variety of stories, ranging from politics, crime, disaster, environmental and even consumer issues, reporting them for the GMA Network Inc.’s news and public affairs programs: 24 Oras, Saksi, Unang Balita, GMA Flash Report, Reporter’s Notebook, as well as news programs for QTV Channel 11.

In 2004, he delivered breaking news coverage of the Super Ferry 14 bombing from one of the rescue ships themselves, reporting blow-by-blow accounts of rescue efforts.

Ralph also broke news of the Philippine National Railways tragedy, which was also his debut story for the top-rating public affairs program, Reporter’s Notebook.

He also joined the news team’s comprehensive coverage of typhoons Winnie and Yoyong, reporting on their havoc in the towns of Real, Infanta, and General Nakar in Quezon province.

Ralph was also the first reporter-anchor for GMA News to break the news of the demise of Pope John Paul II in April 2005.

Since October 2005, Ralph has been assigned as Beat Reporter at the Philippine House of Representatives, covering developments on the Hello Garci Wiretapping Controversy, proposed Charter Change, aside from the passage of relevant legislation.

In May 2006, Ralph was part of the Philippine Broadcast Pool that covered first State Visit of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to Saudi Arabia.

Ralph finished at the University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication (UP-CMC), graduating cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Communication.

As a student, Ralph was Executive Producer and Host of Ralph Guzman sa Katanghalian on DZUP 1602 kHz, a weekly news and commentary program that featured interviews with newsmakers, including his first exclusive interview with Jose Maria Sison of the Communist Party of the Philippines.

He was also founder of the UP Communicators for Good Governance, a socio-civic student organization based in the College. This was in realization of media’s role in nation-building. Ralph now sits as its Founding Chairperson.

Guzman was also recognized as one of Muntinlupa City’s Most Outstanding Students in 1999.

Born on 13 May 1981, Ralph Guzman is the second of three children of a Management Consultant and an ENT-Head and Neck Surgery Specialist.
