Gender benders

Hi, thought I would make a new section, for ease of reading and discussion. Here is the link I told you about. Spivak pronoun, when you get into those gender specific areas, some people, and I stress some, understand these. No prob, had categories to move anyhow. Yea, I'm not all for that "Language Police" stuff, I somewhat believe in "PC" comments, to be polite, but not really. I think it is actually more offensive to remove or censor/edit topics that were written in good faith, without original gender/race bias, than to nit-pick what someone interprets the language to say. Thanks for the well-reasoned comment to my vote (though I don't completely know what the second half meant). I've already (before your message) supported User:Who, as I come across him frequently on CfD, occasionally on TfD and elsewhere. I do not think I will be voting in User:Essjay's RfA since you currently have two nominations out there, which is rather too many IMHO (there are other places to make friends...), and I have good backgrounding in Who, and very little in Essjay. Thank you for the kind suggestion (particularly considering my opposition to your RfA). However, I would prefer it if this was left for a while as my first edit was on 2nd June 2005. I'd never pass on that basis alone, despite my edit count and involvement (though it might make an interesting test of how rigid the 3 month rule really is!). You can take a look at User:Guettarda's comment on my talk page as evidence of this. Also, I think it would better if your current RfAs (including your own) had dropped out of recent Wiki-memory before making anymore (or before making one for me, at least). Thanks for the input, but I'm not going to withdraw it. Feel free to oppose it, but from the support, I might make it. I really want adminship, but on my first RfA, people said I wasn't exerienced enough. One said if I doubled my edit count (I had 650 at the time) they would support. So, having done that at 1300, I nominated myself. The supporters now seem to trust me, so I don't feel I need more edits. Be Bold?

It's me again. I need some help :) I've gone ahead and was bold, by starting a new page (Amapasaurus_tetradactylus), after stumbling upon it's parent using Random Article. My problem(s) are fairly simple:

1. Did I Do The Right Thing? (aka: Can someone check and see if I made screw-ups somewhere?)
2. How To Link To URLs With Square Brackets? (ie: See my references.. one of the sources I used has a url containing square brackets, which are seen as markup by the wiki..)

If it doesn't take too much of your time, could you check these things out for me?

Well, it would have been a lot easier to explain over MSN, but here it is: Go to "Tools" then "Extensions." Find the entry on the list, then click "options." That will give you a box where you can add, edit, delete, etc. new sigs. Go to your welcome, copy it, then paste it into the "new sig" box, give it a name, and click "save". Thank you a lot for your warm welcome, I have been active on NS.Wikipedia, (See my main article: Sozy) so I already know some basics of wiki editing.

I just edited some information about my village of birth, Sleen, which was (sadly) pretty much a blank page. Which raises my question, do you think this is still a stub, considering it is just some information about a small village?

To become an administrator, nominate yourself at RfA. HOWEVER as you are now you will be shot down by voters. Do NOT nominate yourself til you get about 2000 edits. People can be quite mean. Redwolf24 18:05, 21 July 2005 (UTC)

Allow me to elaborate: To become an administrator, keep making good, valuable edits to articles. Make some friends, fight some vandals, work your way up. Vote in a few VfD's, a few RfA's, and give the Wikipedia: namespace a try. When you've been here for three or four months, made a couple thousand edits, and generally established yourself in the community, you can nominate yourself, if someone else doesn't nominate you first. Be sure that you understand how the site works, and be sure the admin tools would be helpful in what you do. Album boxes.

I noticed your contributions to The Long Road. Thanks for digging up the info---what may make your job easier in future is using Template:Album infobox. (Info is available over at Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums.) If you look at the article now, you can see that the syntax is smaller, can be styled by changing a single template, and is a lot more readable. It's not really a preference thing; there's a WikiProject, with its own policies, which you're perfectly free to discuss, but this way, you're making unnecessary work for the folks who came up with the Album infobox style.
