The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler is a television movie that will debut on the CBS television network as a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie on April 19, 2009.[1] The film is written and directed by John Kent Harrison[2] and stars Anna Paquin as Irena Sendler, a Polish Catholic social worker that smuggled approximately 2,500 children to safety during the Holocaust. The movie is based on the 2005 biography Mother of the Children of the Holocaust: The Irena Sendler Story, by Anna Mieszkowska.[1]

Plot[edit]

Irena Sendler (Paquin) creates and leads a conspiracy to sumgle children out of Warsaw's Jewish Ghetto. Sendler is discovered by the Nazis and is schedualed to be exicuted, when she is rescued by the underground network, "Zegota".[1]
