Frank Ellesworth Graeff Frank Ellsworth Graeff was born on De­cem­ber 19, 1860 in Ta­ma­qua, Penn­syl­van­ia and died on Ju­ly 29, 1919, Ocean Grove, New Jer­sey. He is buried in the Riverside Cem­e­tery in Nor­ris­town, Penn­syl­van­ia. Frank Graeff was a Meth­od­ist pas­tor, serv­ing some of the lead­ing church­es in and around Phil­a­del­phia, Penn­syl­van­ia. Reared and ed­u­cat­ed in “Penn­syl­van­ia Dutch” coun­try, he sensed a call to the min­is­try ear­ly in life. In ad­di­tion to pas­tor­ing, he went on to write 200 hymn texts, and one no­vel. The most famous of his hymn text was, "Does Jesus Care", which has been published in every major hymnal among Evangelical Christian Denominations in the United States and on many foreign mission fields since it writing and publication in 1901. Although often troubled with sickness and amid many hardships, through­out the area, he was known as the “Sun­shine Min­is­ter,” for his op­ti­mis­tic at­ti­tude. His su­nny dis­po­si­tion and sim­ple faith made him a spe­cial friend of child­ren, but he was an en­cour­age­ment to ev­er­y­one who knew him ...
