*Early Life*
Comedian Richie Obama was born in Freetown by two middle income earners. His dad Charles Coker is an experienced driver and his mother Hawa Tarawally is a business woman. He completed his primary school at Seventh Day Adventist primary school in 2006 with an outstanding academic performance that secured him to get a secondary school admission at Methodist Boys High School. From 2011-2013,comedian Richie Obama studied computer Engineering and got three National Diplomas in Software, Hardware and Networking. Comedian Richie has an International Diploma in Computer Engineering in 2013 from Amity India Online University with Fourah Bay College. He is currently a final year of Fourah Bay College University of Sierra Leone pursuing a degree in Social Work.
*Career Driven*
Like many young Africans who are born with great talented gifts in this part of Africa,Comedian Richie Obama discovered his skill at an early age of 10. He uses his comedy skills to pass on messages to his colleague church mates, schoolmates and friends around him. His professional career started in 2014 at a renowned wedding ceremony in Freetown between a Ghanaian guy and a Sierra Leonean lady. Since then, Richie Obama has hosted over 500 cooperate events in the entire Sierra Leone.
With his stand up comedy niche, he has proved himself worthy to national service by conducting a peaceful nonviolence election campaign comedy show in the just concluded March 2018 Multitier Presidential, Parliamentary, Mayoral and Local Council elections in Sierra Leone with support from mastamind Consultium and Freetown Comedy Club. He has also championing the campaign against Anti Street Children. As a comedian, he believes that street children have a better life to pursue if their needs are met and they are rehabilitated.
In 2017 and 2018 Richie Obama won the Teens Nation Awards as the best comedian in Sierra Leone. He has also being awarded as best comedian by university fraternities. In March 2nd 2018, Comedian Richie Obama organized his first ever stand-up comedy show at the prestigious Quincy's night club with the theme "Laf Tay U Go Vote" The show was a clarion call by all Sierra Leoneans to maintain a peaceful electioneering process in a democratic dispensation. Thus, the "Laf Tay U Go Vote show" was jam-packed by many young people across Sierra Leone and it was a huge success. He is the founder and owner of Richie Obama Entertainment Company. A company that raises young potential comedians in this part of Africa.
