I used to enjoy adding to pages on Wikipedia. The presumably self-appointed Editors, their stated purpose to keep the quality up, are placing themselves as the definitive arbiters. And there is nothing more dangerous than the self-righteous in charge of something.

I remember when Wikipedia first appeared - it was throwing two-fingers up to those people who controlled humanities' access to information. But in the end those people's sons and daughters, the hapless copycats, have grabbed the shining light and are snuffing it out.
