I suppose that I finally put something here because I've made a reasonable number of edits so far and my username shows that I don't have a user page started yet! :-)

I guess that I owe the Wiki community some information about myself:

  • My interests include general history and some aspects of sociology.
  • I decided to edit some Wiki pages firstly because of the many small errors that I've seen on many pages. I secondly started to edit some Wiki pages because of the smaller number of large errors on some pages! :-)
  • Why am I qualified to contribute? I guess that for the most part I am not qualified. I have some education (Ph.D.) but I've fixed errors (or introduced some) in areas outside of my own research area. Further, it seems evident that many contributors are also not necessarily experts in the areas that they are contributing to. In a few cases I've found gross errors that seem to just sit there for a long time (or seemingly never get fixed) so even people who are not necessarily experts can make genuine contributions -- or so it would seem.

You are certainly welcome to write something for me on my associated user-talk page.
