As of 5:00 p.m. EDT (21:00 UTC) September 12, Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine is located within 30 nautical miles of 23°42′N 74°48′W / 23.7°N 74.8°W, about 235 mi (380 km) southeast of Great Abaco Island, or about bout 310 mi (500 km) southeast of Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. Maximum sustained winds are 25 knots (30 mph, 45 km/h), with gusts to 35 knots (40 mph, 65 km/h). The minimum barometric pressure is 1008 mbar (hPa; 29.77 inHg), and the system is moving north-northwest at 7 knots (8 mph, 13 km/h).
