From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A light field display (or lightfield display) is a type of 3D display that generates a light field visible by one or more eyes. Notably, light field displays do not technically generate images (2D images), as a light field is more than two-dimensional. Light field displays can generate content with matching vergence and accommodation, setting them apart from many other kinds of 3D displays like typical stereoscopic, autostereoscopic, and multiscopic displays. Light field displays share some features with holographic and volumetric displays.
