Rules for classification: 1) Points; 2) Goal difference; 3) Goals scored.
(D) Disqualified; (R) Relegated
Notes:
  1. ^ Rot-Weiss Essen had their license revoked during the season due to financial irregularities and were relegated, though they played all their remaining matches. All of Essen's results were annulled, therefore only counting for their opponents. Without the annulment, they would have finished in 19th place with 29 points, with a record of 9 wins, 11 draws and 18 losses, along with −16 goal difference (44 goals for and 60 goals against).
