I have a PhD in zoology and have been teaching biology at the college level since 1990. My research specialty is wildlife endocrinology, particularly stress physiology, with major research taxa including passerine songbirds, elephants, bears, cetaceans and sea turtles. Subject areas I teach: general biology, comparative endocrinology, comparative physiology, comparative reproduction, conservation biology, animal behavior, sensory biology, ornithology, marine mammalogy, animal diversity, vertebrate zoology and evolution. I've written portions of many college textbooks including chapters on vertebrate sensory systems and muscle physiology, glossaries (I wrote the original glossary for the first edition of Freeman's Biological Science), and I am often fact-check editor for sections on animal diversity, animal evolution, and physiology.

My scientific edits to Wikipedia are generally only done after doublechecking my information with a search through recent scientific literature via Google Scholar.

I have 1 additional Wikipedia account called Marcacao.
