The creation of E-commerce opened a whole new spectrum for business applications on the internet. With an increased number of people buying things online in 2012, "marketers have been able to use new tools to customize their products and sites to each customer. By customizing ads and pages to each customer's age, geography, social status, and Internet searches"[1], businesses are able to cater to.

Other advantages that e-commerce brings to corporations is the access to a wide spectrum of customers around the world. By being able to access people from all over the world, businesses are able to become closer to their customer aswell [2] Another huge advantage that companies are able to gain from e-commerce is the ability to cut down costs in the marketing budget. By doing so, companies are able to reach more customers with less effort and resources.

The impact in developing countries and their businesses has also been of importance since developing countries make up to "80% of the worlds population" [3]. Businesses in developing countries are now able to access customers around the world, helping them grow and become known to the world.

In terms of the applications in the banking world, e-commerce opened the doors for customers to be able to see their banking information real time, pay bills with the use of paperless billing, and make transactions across the globe. By allowing customers the ability to have real time access to their banking, business now become more available for transactions. [4].
