Ranjit Singh Gill is an artist, writer and poet. He has held Eight-Six (86) One Man Show of his Paintings, Poems & Paintings, Graphics, Drawings and Watercolors all over the world. He is an artist of considerable Merit. Born in Punjab on 3rd September 1935, in a family of musicians, Poets, astrologers, Palmists, engineers, writers, architects, philosophers and artists. The family environment and village life made a Powerful impact on his Subtle Mind & imagination inspired him to paint and write. He educated himself in the field of Fine Arts from Delhi & Punjab. Gill is the grandson of Sr. Jawala Singh (Freedom Fighter) who Sacrificed his life for the freedom of his country India.

The Shastriya Sangeet (Classical Music) of the family and a thorough study of the Gurbani, Ragas and ragmala of the Guru Granth Sahib inspired him to create Ragmala Paintings. In this context he studied all the interrelated books, specially based on Ragas- Historical, Mythological, Religious text. The Ragamala Paintings represent a Philosophy comprehensive enough to embrace complete knowledge. A system of meditation which will produce the Power of concentrating the mind upon anything whatsoever and an art of living which will enable one to utilize each activity of the body, Speech and mind as an aid to the path of Liberation. As a artist , writer and poet Gill contributed to this field of his country and the World, specially for the research- scholars who are really in search of something new, he considered that his duty.
