2 Shoes are an English pop Duo based in Essex, London, consisting of members Charley Bird, 23 and Lucy Texeira, 21. The girls initially came to public attention when they auditioned for the eighth series of The X Factor. They were eliminated after the first live show by their mentor Tulisa Contostavlos, but have signed a record deal and are currently working on their debut album.

Career[edit]

2009-11: Formation and career beginnings[edit]

2 shoes was started in 2009 orignally named "New Shoes" Lucy & Charley had always known of each other through the singing circuit in Essex but never sang together. The girls decided to form a group to do local gigs/performances and their friendship grew into what it is today, their INSEPERABLE. Having performed at hundreds of pubs,clubs,resteraunts, festivals and weddings, the then new shoes decided to audition for the X Factor for the 1st time back in 2010, they did well getting through a few rounds but was unsuccessful in getting to the judges stage.[1]

2011: The X Factor[edit]

For their audition, 2 Shoes sang "All My Life". At judges houses, they sang Kesha's "Tik Tok", and Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody". They sang "Something Kinda Ooooh" and were the first of the groups to be eliminated from the live shows on 9 October by decision of mentor Tulisa Contostavlos, as there was no public vote in the inaugural live show. They were in the running to replace Frankie Cocozza after he was eliminated from the contest, but received the lowest number of votes.[2]

2012-present: Debut studio album[edit]

On 1 March 2012, 2 Shoes made a short appearance on Celebrity Juice. on 20 January 2012, 2 Shoes made an appearance on This Morning and hosted a section of the show called "The Hub".[3]
