Sai Ketan Rao[1][2] is an Indian television and film actor. He is known for playing lead role Raghav Rao[3] [4] in StarPlus television show Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali[5].[6]
He also worked in several Telugu web series such as, Three Half Bottles Three Half Bottles (2019) Love Studio (2020) and Lovely (2021) He also acted in Ajay Passayyadu (2019), Strangers (2021) And a short film, directed by Purvangi Ranjan (chuppi) Mounam[7] (2020)
Early Life[edit]
Rao was born in Lonavala Maharashtra, in to a middle class family. His father is an architect, coming from a Maharashtrian background, whereas, his mother is from Hyderabad and is a nutritionist by profession. Belonging to a family of both Maharashtrian and Telugu culture, Sai Ketan Rao is fluent in Marathi, Telugu, English and Hindi. He is the eldest child to his parents and has a younger sister. Due to family issues, he had to constantly change cities that lead him to change many schools. He first started his schooling in Solapur, Maharashtra, but soon shifted to Pune. Maharashtra and finally settled down in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. He completed his 10th in Hyderabad from Vignan School and pursued B. Tech[8] in Computer Science from Hyderabad Institute of Technology and Management. Further, he went on to complete his MBA[9] in System Operations from GITAM University, Hyderabad.
Career[edit]
Ketan worked for an Australian company after completing his education. But he had a strong inclination towards acting since childhood[10]. With time, the interest grew stronger, and he finally joined Ramanaidu Film School. He started his acting career after completing theatre arts and went on to work for short films and feature films. His first show was for Star Maa a Telugu daily soap named Agni Sakshi (2017) where he played the role of parallel lead, Pratap. Some of his other notable works include Ajay Passayyadu (2019), and Strangers (2021). He debuted as the lead of his first web series named Three Half Bottles (2019) for Zee5, where he played the role of one of the leads named Aditya. His other significant works include web series like Beyond Breakup, Love Studio (2020) Lovely (2021) He is currently playing the role of Raghav Rao in Star Plus's Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali where he plays the role of a rugged Don Jeweller of Hyderabad alongside Shivangi Khedkar in the role of Pallavi.
Apart from short films, webseries and television, he has been a part of various ad films and commercials.
Personal Life[edit]
Apart from acting, Ketan likes to work towards his physical fitness. He is a state level Boxer, a swimmer and a fitness enthusiast. His favourite sports is go-karting. This 6ft tall actor is also an animal lover and pets a Labrador Retriever.
