WYSIWYG editors for Wikipedia[edit]

  • Wikipedia Visual Editor - First opt-in user-facing production usage by December 2011, and first small wiki default deployment by June 2012.
  • Gwennel Web - WYSIWYG editor for Wikipedia and MediaWiki sites that runs on Windows XP / Vista / 7. It allows you to easily edit pages without knowing the tedious wiki syntax.
  • CKEditor - WYSIWYG editor used inside web pages.
  • Microsoft Office Word Add-in For MediaWiki - Allows you to save your Microsoft Office Word 2007 and 2010 documents straight into MediaWiki.

Useful City Article Tips[edit]

  • All small towns needs to create a city-owned web site, so the link can be added to the Wikipedia article about your city!
  • Your city needs to add detailed history to your city-owned web site, so it can be referenced by Wikipedia articles!
    • How was the city named? What year was the city founded? Interesting facts and info about about your city.
    • List of cool points of interest and landmarks that you want to share with the world?
  • Upload old historical photos / post cards / new photos of buildings / attractions of your city to Wikimedia, so we can use in Wikipedia articles!
  • Enter grave information for your local cemeteries into http://www.findagrave.com so relatives and researchers can easily find them.
  • Flags should NOT be in the infobox, per WP:INFOBOXUSE.
