Background[edit]

Scottie Jax is a recording artist, record producer, and video editor from Columbus, Ohio. He began rapping at the age of nine after freestyling while attending a friend's birthday party. In addition, he was extremely influenced by the Hip-Hop genre by his older brother's 7th grade friend which Scottie describes as a mentor. His mother has a musical background as well, and she studied Beethoven in college. At age eleven, Scott entered a school talent show as a Disc Jockey. Received well, he was invited to spin at classmates house parties and joined a record pool. By fifteen years of age, Scottie performed as the opening act for a touring headline artist with his high school friend. Scott recalls having a 5 minute conversation with the artist after the show, "I remember asking for his advice on success, and he said you just gotta work hard".

First Musical Projects and Other Works[edit]

In 2009, Scottie Jax released "Plan For Tomorrow". A mixtape with 18 tracks and beats predominantly produced by himself. Scottie began editing music videos in 2010 after filming in a nightclub. "I didn't think anything of it at first, my friend told me I might have a hidden talent. Since May of 2017, Scottie Jax has produced over twenty mixtapes and beat tapes combined, but always points out that rap won't be his main thing. "I'm not 21 anymore. I'm not as interested in the same things that I was when I was fifteen. I've discovered that I'm just as gifted in other things than writing lyrics. I'm just trying to expand and help other creatives like myself."

Christian Conversion[edit]

In mid December of 2015, Scottie Jax had a spiritual experience that drew him closer to God and Jesus Christ. He was baptised soon after and attends church on a regular basis.
