Simbasat is a user who edits some transmission definition sites. I'm an inventor of a roller-based traction drive that used dilatant, STF traction fluids (circa 1987). I also invented the patented Simkins' Ratcheting CVT (circa 1992), and an IVT that is pending. I built the first 30 speed and 45 speed bicycles in the San Francisco Bay Area (circa 1963). I hold other patents, including one for a Capillary Electrophoresis DNA Sequencer/Analyzer, and another for Mass Customization Techniques of Laser-cutting and Thermoforming.

I'm a Mechanical Engineer in Silicon valley, and have designed many machines and instruments including various robots and other devices used in the bio-medical industry.
