Comments[edit]

Yes, this is algebraic notation IIRC. Dysprosia 08:54, 16 May 2005 (UTC)

Oh, you should check Wikipedia:Sandbox/Chess for an example of how we formatted the notation - I think you have too little spaces here because eventually when you start moving non-pawn pieces, promote, do en passant (or disambiguate moves), etc. you will need more space. Just a tip in advance, though. -- Natalinasmpf 09:32, 16 May 2005 (UTC)

I modified the moves list format accordingly. H Padleckas 12:01, 16 May 2005 (UTC)

Hi, Dysprosia. How are you? H Padleckas 16:25, 18 May 2005 (UTC)

Mmmm, black looks to be edging it at the mo, methinks, jguk 20:00, 18 May 2005 (UTC)
(H Padleckas) Fine, thanks. Yourself?
(Jguk) Edging it?
Dysprosia 21:50, 18 May 2005 (UTC)

Black lost a tempo then, and blundered a pawn, jguk 12:26, 19 May 2005 (UTC)

Fine, thank you, Dysprosia. I'm a male living in the United States who's interested in chemistry, among other things. I'm wondering if you are male or female. H Padleckas 22:58, 19 May 2005 (UTC)

I'm female, and from Australia. Dysprosia 00:22, 20 May 2005 (UTC)

I wish I could take my move 19. Qc2 back and play 19. b4 instead. But I only take back or request taking back moves sparingly, so I didn't take this one back. I hope it will not be a fatal flaw. It does have the "adantage/disadvantage"? or characteristic of opening up the d-file though. H Padleckas 19:01, 21 May 2005 (UTC)

24-hour time limit exceeded once by Dysprosia in Move 20. Please make a move. H Padleckas 20:12, 22 May 2005 (UTC)

Sorry I'm late, I couldn't get online at all yesterday. I shall move immediately. Dysprosia 20:40, 22 May 2005 (UTC)

Conditional Moves[edit]

The reason a player may list conditional moves from time to time is to speed the game along;
i. e., so the players don't have to wait for each other to make a response. H Padleckas 08:06, 26 May 2005 (UTC)

I don't really like the idea, but whatever ;) I'll let you make your conditional move anyway, in case you change your mind/respect etc. Dysprosia 08:20, 26 May 2005 (UTC)

24-hour limit[edit]

24-hour time limit exceeded a second time by Dysprosia in Move 34. I will try to wait patiently. H Padleckas 01:00, 29 May 2005 (UTC)

I'm very sorry. Part of the reason is that I have rather a heavy workload at the moment, the other part is that finding a clear way through this is becoming slightly difficult. I would have offered a draw earlier perhaps, but this probably would have been counterproductive in getting the games underway in future as if you would have accepted we would have had to play again. Dysprosia 06:23, 29 May 2005 (UTC)
Draw not accepted, sorry. I think I will win this game. H Padleckas 06:32, 29 May 2005 (UTC)
No, I wasn't offering it now, I said I would have much earlier, but chose not to. You probably will win, but I will not resign just yet. Dysprosia 06:54, 29 May 2005 (UTC)

I resign. Good game, H Padleckas, you were a good opponent, and I enjoyed the game much. Dysprosia 07:38, 29 May 2005 (UTC)

Good game, Dysprosia. Thank you for playing. I found it an enjoyable game too. I was wondering, did you choose your Wikipedia name based on the oxide of the rare earth chemical element Dysprosium ? H Padleckas 07:55, 29 May 2005 (UTC)
Not for the sake of the oxide/element, but for the etymology of the name of the element :) Dysprosia 14:03, 29 May 2005 (UTC)
