Author and journalist. Born 3rd January 1893 died 17th March 1942.
Bozzay Margit was born in the western part of Hungary in the village of Kemenesszentpeter. Her father Antal was the manager of the estate of the bishop of Szombathely. She was the eldest daughter in a large family of seven siblings and as such had responsibilities in the household. She married Boldizsár Bozzay to escape these on the 1st February 1910. They moved to Répceszentgyörgy where her eldest son Emil was born on the 17th November 1910 and her second son Dezső on the 23rd May 1912.
In 1923 she left Szombathely and moved to Budapest where she joined the staff of the Pesti Napló writing articles mainly for women on topical events. Her first book of poems A Sorsom mása was published in Szombathely in 1920 and her first novel Tizenöt éves feleség (Fifteen Year Old Wife) was published in 1936 followed by Kenyér és szerelem (Labour and Love) in the following year. The final part of her autobiographical trilogy was A lecke vége (The Lesson Ends)
She divorced her husband but did not remarry. After publishing several more novels she developed ovarian cancer and died on the 17th March 1942.
