American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare The American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare (AASWSW) is a professional organization that recognizes the accomplishments of Social Workers. [1]

The President of the National Association of Social Workers, James J. Kelly stated in NASW News that the profession of Social Work is growing because it now has its own Academy, which makes Social Work "akin to other health professions."[2]
