Kalpana Raghavendar is an Indian playback singer who sings mostly in telugu and tamil films.She is the daughter of T.S Raghavendar and Sulochana born in Tamil Nadu. Her father was a composer, singer and an actor in tamil films.She began as a child artist in movies like "Punnagai Mannan " and "seetarama kalyanam".She even dubbed for child artistes like in maniratnam's "anjali" and other films.She started singing at the age of 3.she learnt carnatic music from layachudoroli T Srinivasan and Wesetrn classical from Mr Agastyan Paul.Though she sang in tamil films, she got recognition in the Telugu film industry.She sang most of her songs for musci directors like manisharma and devisri prasad. Her major hits in telugu were "ammo ne amma goppade" from "ANJI" cheliya cheliya from kalusukovalani premante suluvu kadura from kushi and gongura thotakada from venky.She participated in the malayalam singing competition idea star singer and won the title in 2011.She was hailed by Dr SP balasubramiam as one of the finest singers in india.
