Shakti Organization, is an Indian not-for-profit Organization (NPO/NGO), catalyzing sustainable development of vulnerable communities in Odisha state of India. Its major thrust area of works are Child Rights, Livelihoods, Sustainable agriculture, Community Health Care, Old Age Care, and Women Empowerment.

The organization was started in 1992 by Mr. Akhil Ranjan Panda along with likeminded social worker team.

History Shakti Organization was formed in the tribal dominated Rayagada district of Odisha, India in 1992 with the vision of addressing the underlying causes of poverty, illiteracy, poor health care and various environmental concerns. It’s mission is to catalyze a sustainable development process through participatory action and facilitation to enhance the capacity of the people’s organizations to improve the quality of life of the deprived classes of society, especially the tribal peoples, the marginalized and women, children in the state of Odisha.

Shakti's work focuses on addressing the problems rooted through agricultural, educational, health, socio-economic shortfalls. Shakti undertakes projects designed to improve the well-being of tribal people, improve and diversify the available resources to secure livelihood options, improve water provision and sanitation, to empower women and community organizations and to strengthen the Panchayat Raj Institutions. • Women-Prompted 407 Women SHGs & 17 Federations as part of women empowerment. • Livelihood-912 Backyard Poultry unit, 15 MCU, 262 Goat Farming Unit, 17 Duck Farming units, 13 Integrated Farming unit, 43 WHS with Pisciculture, 305 nos 5% model pond, 73 VSS, 21 nos. Agro-processing unit, SRI in 3050 Hector of land and 17 Irrigation structure-DBI & Hydram, 26 Diversion Wear. • Health- Strengthening of 78 GKS, Facilitated Health & Nutrition in 871 AWCs., Trained 706 ASHA, 1206 patients supported with Ambulance service, Cadre of 46 TBA, 02 Maternity Weighting Home, 35 Adolescent Club. • Education-550 Child Labour Students mainstreamed, 4337 women literate,23 ICDS center transformation, 2012 Students supported for education. • Child Rights-41 Children Club, Rescue & restoration of 8707 Child, 1098 Toll free service, 35 Child Club. • Panchayat Raj-Trained 3045 PRI Representatives, Established resource center on Panchayat Raj. • Water & Sanitation-33 gravity fed Drinking water supply project out of which 27 project having household connection. 1008 individual Household toilets. • Old Age Care- Senior Citizens’ Home serving 75 destitute old age people since 2005-Instituational Care. Under non-Institutional Care, 547 old age people have been facilitated /served with Old Age Pension, legal counseling, cataract operations and helping them in enrolling in emergency feeding programme, etc.

Legal Status: Registered under Society Registration Act, FCRA Act, IT 12 A, IT 80G, EPF, CSR, TAN, Niti Aayog.
