Stanley Appel (born 19 April 1933 in Twickenham, London) is a former British television producer and director of light entertainment at BBC television, most synonymous with his overhaul of Top of the Pops in the early 1990s,[1] which saw the brief end to BBC Radio 1 DJs hosting the show and especially as the producer of popular game show, Blankety Blank, during the Les Dawson era. Les Dawson presented him with a gilded statuette as a reminder of their time together.

His interests include making model aeroplanes, current affairs and spending time with his family. He can also solve a rubiks cube in 77 seconds. He has two cats called Pepsi and Max. References
