Important information for minors

I'm Stephen Brooke, originally from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

I love technology, and I need to create, so of course I program computers, but I've only been paid to program since 1990.

I eat to live - I keep active and eat optimally.

I volunteer - at the local Hospital, the local Food Bank, and I walk up the CN Tower almost every year for the United Way. I am also a regular blood donour.

I finished High School, took Aviation at a Technical College (but didn't finish) and then tried General Science at a University (and ran out of money!)

So without a degree or diploma, I've had the opportunity to work on Mainframe, Desktop, Client-Server, n-Tier, Intranet and Internet platforms and achieved several Microsoft certifications. Most of my work history has been as a contract programmer and business analyst for multi-national financial services companies and provincial government ministries.

Since my serious attempts at post-secondary education occurred 30 years ago, I'm hoping to get back to a Technical College in 2012 to take Computer Programming. Really! I'm looking forward to rounding-out my computer knowledge in preparation for the next 20 years of my career.

I earned an Associates Degree in Computer Programming from Humber College, Toronto, then transferred to University of Toronto, Mississauga to work towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Philosophy, Mathematics and Computer Science... still unfinished!

During the COVID-19 shutdown, I interacted with the neighbourhood Robins (turdus migratorius) and mimicked their whistles, until I realized it was a language - a mating language - that could be older than humanity itself.

I can't quite believe that I get to join the Wikipedia user community! I am so grateful for the chance to be just a tiny part of this amazing project.

Cheers!
