History[edit]

The history of the Allard Motor Works began in 1995 when Roger Allard (no relation to Sidney Allard) chanced upon a book about the Allard Motor Company while on a visit to England. Previously unaware of the Allard brand or the racing history of the J2X roadster, Roger Allard undertook more research and in 1999 purchased the rights to the Allard name (along with a set of fiberglass body molds taken from an original J2X) from Neil Hardy, an Allard restorer and builder of replicars in San Diego. After Hardy’s tooling, molds and jigs were shipped to Montreal, Allard Motor Works was incorporated and the company began the process of computer-designing and prototyping the new Allard J2X Mark II. [1][2]

J2X MkII[edit]

The Allard J2X MkII is a modern re-creation of the original Allard J2X competition roadster, an American V8-powered two-seater built in London, England by Sydney Allard in the early 1950’s.

First Delivery[edit]

The first Allard J2X MkII was delivered on October 13, 2008.[3]
