MahaYogi Thotti Lakshmamma

MahaYogi Thotti Lakshmamma is a Mystic & Enlightened being who lived in Adoni-Andhra Pradesh-India. Affectionately addressed as "Avva"( Grandmother) by the the people of Adoni.

Avva Born to Shri. Bandeppa and Smt. Mangamma, in a poverty stricken Family at Moosanapalli, a small village 7 km from Adoni- Andhra Pradesh . During her Childhood, Avva roamed about the streets of her village completely naked talking gibberish. People presumed her to be insane and suggested her parents to get her married assuming that she might become sane. She was married to Shri Mareppa. Avva demonstrated Her spiritual prowess to her husband and returned to her parents. People pelted stones at her, presuming her to be insane.

Avva joined a group of people heading to the village shandy at Adoni. She settled beside a garbage dump in the silver market and never returned to her village . She ate whatever was offered to her. She was found roaming the streets of Adoni talking gibberish. People called her Thotti (Garbage Dump) Lakshmamma .

In 1933 Lakshmamma Avva attained Samadhi at the same spot where she spent her life. The Samadhi is built in an underground chamber and a gold idol of Lakshmamma Avva is consecrated over it in the Sanctum.
