Needs Examples

Quite a lot, actually. Most articles about functions need examples done on bit-strings to make them a bit more clear. Some that need examples, or needed examples that have them by the time you are reading this, include:

• AES
• Blowfish
• CAST-128
• Pseudo-Hadamard Transform

Needs Expansion

These articles just need expansion. Ciphers need a more clear description and/or examples, etc.

Military-related things needing help

Lists

There are many different ways to categorize military weapons and such, thus there are many different lists for that purpose. Some of these lists, however, are desparately lacking and need a great deal of help. These lists are missing links to various weapons that should be a part of them, whether they currently exist on Wikipedia or not. If you do look up a weapon article on Wikipedia, please check the relevent lists to make sure it is listed there. Only with cooperation from many people can we finally have everything listed in all the proper lists.

Anyway, here's the list of lists that need attention:

• List of aircraft weapons - this should eventually look like a categorized List of firearms
• List of crew-served weapons of the U.S. Armed Forces
• List of individual weapons of the U.S. Armed Forces
• List of modern weapons by type - in pretty dire shape, should get merges from things such as List of firearms and List of aircraft weapons when complete.
• List of modern weapons by country
• List of weapons of the U.S. Marine Corps

...and probably some that I'm missing (I just looked at Category:Lists of Weapons)

An example of fixing up the above can be given by example of M270 MLRS. Here is a weapon that belongs in List of crew-served weapons of the U.S. Armed Forces, List of modern weapons by type (God only knows where to put it here, that page is in desparate need of a cleanup), and List of modern weapons by country. Yet it is in none of these, so if you were looking for it, how would you find it? If you look up or come across an article such as M270 MLRS, please look in the appropriate lists and if it is not there, please list it!

However, some lists are not in need of attention, even if they may be incomplete. The following lists shouldn't be touched, because they are awaiting completed parenthetical documentation from List of firearms. After that is completed (parenthetical documentation for everything listed there), completing these lists will be a simple matter of running grep and pasting the output:

• List of assault rifles
• List of machine guns
• List of pistols (might want to rename that List of handguns)
• List of shotguns
• List of submachine guns

By helping out with this, you'll be doing all of Wikipedia a great favor!

List of firearms

Deserves a section of its own! This page needs people to hop over and help put in parenthetical documentation for every item on the list. Standard form is:

• Weapon (country - type - ammunition)
• M16 (United States - Assault Rifle - 5.56mm NATO)

Just like that. Once all the parenthetical documentation is complete, smaller lists like the type I talk about above can be easily created and populated. From the looks of the current page, I'd say we're about halfway done with the documentation. Please come and help out!
