The Holdsworth Center is a nonprofit organization whose "mission is to impact over time, the quality of public education available to Texas students by supporting and developing public school leaders."[1] H-E-B Chairman Charles Butt named the center after his mother Mary Elizabeth Holdsworth Butt.

In 2017, H-E-B Chairman Charles Butt invested $100 million in the creation of The Holdsworth Center, an organization designed to support Texas public school leaders.[2][3] The organization works with selected school districts across Texas to strengthen their development efforts of superintendents, principals, assistant principals, teachers and other leaders in their districts.
Butt named the center after his mother, Mary Elizabeth Holdsworth Butt, an educator and philanthropist.[4] Her commitment to the education of Texas students inspired Butt throughout his youth.
The Holdsworth Center started their work with six public school districts across Texas in June 2017.[5] For their first cohort, the Center invited 20 school districts to apply to be one of the six chosen.[6] The first cohort consisted of Arlington ISD, Grand Prairie ISD, Klein ISD, Lamar CISD, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD, Round Rock ISD and Southwest ISD.
