TaraElla identifies as a liberal, and has defined a liberal as someone who puts liberty first. She believes that liberals (as in American usage) and libertarians should be brought together in a broad umbrella movement that promotes liberty.
TaraElla identifies as a liberal feminist. She also believes that liberal feminism is better suited to deal with the demands of intersectional feminism than radical feminism. She believes that feminism must meet the needs of all women regardless of political or religious views. She also believes that a truly intersectional feminism should be without gatekeepers.
Stance Against the Notability Policy of Wikipedia[edit]
TaraElla has declared it her "feminist mission" to get Wikipedia to abolish its Notability policy.[1] She has written extensively on this topic, for her Medium publication WikiEqualize.[2] She argues that, as women and minorities are far less likely to be able to meet the Notability criteria, they are far less likely to be represented in Wikipedia. Thus the Notability criteria, in her view, serves as an instrument of structural inequality.[3] Consistent with her skepticism of gatekeeping, she has stated that any compromise solution would not be acceptable, because while any Notability policy remains in place, there will be gatekeepers with power and incentive to maintain inequality.[4] Her suggested replacement for the Notability criteria is a set of Cultural Contribution criteria, which do not depend on attention in mainstream media.[5]
I do not intend to pick fights with other Wikipedians about the policy as it exists. There is no use doing that while the policy clearly still stands. I only wish to reform it in the long run.

Notability policy is exclusionary and makes Wikipedia (and life) less beautiful. Hence it needs to go.
TaraElla is particularly interested in gathering and sharing information about human rights, LGBT equality and related social developments, and often uses Wikipedia articles on these things as a source of information. She also contributes to such articles when she feels she can help.
Other articles she likes to read include articles about music, history, politics and computers.
TaraElla is a strong supporter of marriage equality. She has even written a book and a song about it. However, when editing articles on Wikipedia, she will do her best to maintain an objective and neutral point of view on the matter. She also welcomes constructive criticism if warranted on this point.
Music-wise, TaraElla is evolving in style. Most of TaraElla's earlier work was slow tempo pop ballads, like Beauty (2010) and the album Anthem of Idealists (2011). With the release of the album The Road to Where I'm Heading (2014), including more upbeat tracks like Not That Kind of Retro, she has developed a more diverse pop style.
