Myrtle Vane was an American singer and actress on stage and in films.

Career[edit]

Vane was a leading lady in theatrical productions and made some feature films in the 1920s.[1]

In 1892, Vane began entertaining as a chorus girl.[2]

Personal life[edit]

Vane was married to actor Millar Bacon. They divorced in 1908 and had a son, actor Irving Bacon.[1]

In 1906, reports that Bacon had deserted Vane prompted public support for the actress. The leading man and leading lady of the Redmond theatrical company in San Jose, California, led the solicitation effort, and the troupe planned a benefit performance in late August. Bacon had been involved with another actress; after that affair ended he had, in Vane's words, "gone home to mother."[3]
