Dr. Gary Richter, born June 3rd, 1970, is a dedicated veterinarian who uses both Eastern and Western medicine in his practices. While practicing in the Bay Area, Dr. Richter has begun introducing alternative and holistic medicine to his clients at Montclair Veterinary Hospital and Holistic Vet Care.


Early Career[edit]

While attending the University of Florida earned a Bachelor's of Science, Master's of Science in Veterinary Medicine and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, graduating with honors. After finishing his schooling, Dr. Richter gained a large amount of experience working as a full-time emergency medicine clinician for Pet Emergency Treatment Service in Berkeley California in addition to being a general practitioner for Berkeley Cat and Dog Hospital.

Practices[edit]

Since 2002 Dr. Richter has been both the owner and medical director of Montclair Veterinary Hospital. As he worked with animals his interests began to expand from emergency care and general practician to include alternative care medicine and wildlife. These two new interests resulted in the birth of two new practices, Holistic Vet Care and the Pet and Wildlife Fund. Groups and Awards[edit]

Dr. Richter is currently serving as President of the Board of Directors for the Alameda County Veterinary Medical Association. In addition to this he volunteers his time to California Veterinary Medical Association as Alameda County's representative regarding animal disaster planning. Oakland Magazine, East Bay Express and Kron 4 TV awarded Dr. Richter and his team at Montclair Veternary Hospital awards for their outstanding work in 2007 and 2008.
