Marrubium or Prasion is also called Iinostrophon, Philopares and Philochares.


Medicinal Uses[edit]

Its leaves and seeds are grind ed together to cure venom from the snakes, chest and side pain as well as cough. It has a acrid smell which is useful to suppress spitting of blood. For coughs, fresh seed with boiled with spelt, oil and salt and taken while fasting. When mixed with vinegar it becomes a remedy for lichens, ruptures, convulsions, and spasms. Dry powder and honey is good for dry cough, gangrene and torn cuticles. When consumed with honey, the juice of this plant is good for nostrils and ears, eyesight, jaundice and bile secretions. It acts as a strong diuretic, ulcers in the bladder and affected kidneys. When mixed with stale axle grease it is a cure for bite of a dog.
